As voted in the 2025 TN Open, time clocks are mandatory in this tournament. A 3-Move Restriction format, at 2½ hours per round (1¼ hours) per game using required GDT North American time clocks or LEAF time clocks set as 35 minute + 3 second back with each press of clock.  This allows each side their ½ of 75 minutes.  Clocks and Game Recorder sheets will be provided.

The Kentucky Players  requested and voted in 2025 that since they no longer hold a Kentucky State Tournament and they actively participate in the Tennessee State Open, ask the TCA to recognize the highest Kentucky Master as the 2026 Kentucky State Champion and a Majors Division Kentucky Champion.  Tennessee Checker Association (TCA) agreed to recognize a Kentucky State Champion, and a Majors Division Kentucky State Champion.  In 2026 TCA decided to add Kentucky to the tournament name as: “Kentucky & Tennessee State Open” since both tournaments have merged into this single event.

We anticipate having ≈ $4,000.00 cash prize fund.

Larry and Randy are planning two divisions. Please also note that this tournament Registration begins at 8AM Friday.
